Theft Detection

Traditional theft detection is provided by an electromagnetic strip sensed by equipment positioned at the entrances and exits of libraries—similarly used in retail stores to keep folks from walking off with merchandise. The tags or strips are purely for theft detection; they do not convey information about the materials. Virtually all tags and strips used in libraries can be limitlessly activated and de-activated so that materials can be protected through multiple circulations.
