Precision One Cataloging System ®
The Precision One Cataloging System is a cataloging resource tool and more! Precision One is an extensive resource database that will allow you access to over two million MARC records, including new releases, pre-1968 titles and Library of Congress records. This easy-to-use cataloging tool is designed to make your retrospective conversion and on-going cataloging more accurate, efficient and cost effective.
The data is continually updated, therefore you can be assured you will receive the most current and up-to-date titles available. Precision One has been carefully profiled to provide an excellent hit rate, saving valuable staff time and decreasing the time spent on cataloging.
Maximizing Hit Rate
Precision One offers a number of time-saving features that will assist you in your library’s cataloging efforts. Searches can be conducted by Title, Author, Publication date, and ISBN/LCCN. When you have found the record you are looking for, simply edit, save it to a file, and immediately import into your automation system. When editing records you have the option to add or delete tags and subfields, print spine and pocket labels, as well as take advantage of the convenient MARC Help feature. MARC Help provides a quick reference and examples of MARC coding.
Providing Quality Records
Precision One customers have immediate access to professionally cataloged records from our highly skilled and
experienced Brodart Cataloging department, as well the Library of Congress. The database contains over 300,000 non-print records, 58,000 serial records and 75,000 foreign language records. Records also include Review Sources, Citation/Reference Notes, Award Notes and Target audiences. Interested in performing your own cataloging? Precision One gives you the option to choose from a number of cataloging templates, or create your own MARC record. As you create these records, control numbers can be automatically generated for your convenience.
Delivery Options
Understanding that each library has different needs, Brodart offers a variety of delivery and configuration options. Precision One is available via the Internet, accessible via your hard drive or through Z39.50. You also have the option to use it in a standalone or networked environment. Interested in saving money?
