Adult Lease Plan
For more than 50 years, McNaughton Book Services has helped librarians meet the demand for high-circulating, popular reading materials. Keeping up with this visible, vital part of your collection is critical to your patrons.

The McNaughton Adult Lease Plan is a flexible program that takes the guesswork out of identifying upcoming bestsellers and enables you to access the right books at the right time!
Free Core Collection
McNaughton provides your initial core collection of books. The number of titles you may select is 10 times your monthly service level. For example, if you subscribe to 20 books per month, you can select 200 books for your core collection. This collection becomes your lease plan opening inventory. The inventory is kept in constant turnover by adding new books each month and periodically returning older titles no longer circulating. As an option, you may purchase titles which have proven to have lasting value in your library. Your core collection is selected from our current returns from McNaughton customers. These titles have been completely refurbished and they will be processed to your specifications.
Reliable Monthly Selection Lists
Each month McNaughton reviews thousands of soon-to-be published titles to identify those selections that will be high demand titles. The McNaughton review sources include: The New York Times Bestsellers, Library Journal, Kirkus Reviews, Booklist, and Publishers Weekly. The McNaughton selection committee is made up of professional librarians, experienced book buyers and the McNaughton editorial staff. This group brings more than 100 years of book selection experience to the table every time they meet.
The monthly selection catalog you receive offers titles three months in advance of their publication date -- the earliest in the industry!
The monthly catalog contains the annotations and bibliographic information you can count on for selecting the right titles for your patrons. The regular monthly catalog features the following adult categories:

Standard Processing - Our standard processing includes a clear plastic book cover, a green paper insert, which serves as a property label/spine label, and a pocket mounted on the front or back flyleaf.
FREE Electronic Cataloging - We offer a variety of cataloging options. You can choose from our standard cataloging, or from the options available within your cataloging type. Full cataloging records in US MARC or MICROLIF format are available for your selections complete with optional item records for the most popular library management systems. We can offer a generic cataloging record for each selection on the adult monthly list, or the library can choose to get records and bar codes for the titles they actually order. Records may be supplied via FTP download or on diskette.

Guaranteed Pricing
Subscription pricing protects you from the rising cost of new books for an entire year. Shipping to and from your library, standard cataloging, processing, and electronic records are included at no extra charge. Save an additional 2% with convenient annual prepayment. Monthly, quarterly and semi-annual invoicing options are also available.
Replacement Policy
Any book found to be defective in binding, pagination, etc., during the first six months will be replaced at no charge.
Management Reports
You'll receive management reports each month listing your current lease inventory status and monthly allowance balance. A consolidated report is available for larger library systems showing activity for each participating branch.
